Birmingham Prelude Strings
is an intermediate level string orchestra for advancing string players.  Members of Birmingham Prelude Strings (BPS) are generally those students who have 'moved up' from BSO, but others who are new to the MOP orchestras are always welcome.

Each year, BPS performs two formal concerts along with a series of school concerts in area schools.  BPS also performs in the annual MOP Showcase Recital.  For this special event, one BPS student is selected to perform a solo piece with the Alabama Youth Symphony.  During the summer, BPS students have the opportunity to participate in the MOP chamber music program.

BPS rehearses every Monday during the school year from 7:00-8:30 PM at Brookwood Village in Homewood.
